Position overview

Position title: Pre-six Electronic Music Lecturer

Salary range: An estimated $8,531-$10,492 for a standard five-credit course (salary points 1-8). Compensation may vary during Summer Session courses.

Percent time: Variable, based on course load.

Anticipated start: Contingent on departmental needs and funding. Valid for appointments from fall quarter 2024 through fall quarter 2025. Outside this period, alternative recruitment is required.

Position duration: Typically during fall, winter, spring, or Summer Session.

Position description

The Department of Music at UCSC invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers to teach courses in the History, Theory, and Practice of Electronic Music at various levels, including large lectures, major courses, and performance workshops or ensembles. Candidates with college-level teaching experience or who can enhance diversity and excellence are encouraged to apply. Internal candidates will be prioritized.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications: Master's Degree in music or equivalent, or four years of significant artistic work with a record of performances, exhibitions, or publications in relevant venues and scholarly outlets.
