Job summary

Dana in Canada is seeking an Electronic Design Intern (Controls or Power Electronics) to assist in designing control and power electronics circuits, PCB layouts, and lab testing. The role involves ordering prototype boards, supervising technicians when needed, and testing motors on benches.

You will collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, document work clearly, and meet project deadlines while developing skills in both French and English.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in electronic design is an asset.
• Interest in transportation electrification is an asset.
• Knowledge of Altium Designer is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to document work effectively.
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive and self-sufficient.
• Able to apply a critical perspective to both personal work and the work of others.
• Detail-oriented and committed to meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Design control electronics circuits (digital, analog, and microcontroller-based) and/or power electronics circuits (DC/DC converters, DC/AC converters, magnetic components, and switching power supply circuits).
• Participate in the design of analog and digital printed circuit boards (PCBs), taking thermal constraints and signal integrity into consideration.
• Order prototype boards and perform laboratory testing.
• Supervise the work of technicians and assembly personnel when required.
• Test complete products on test benches (including motors).
• Contribute to the research and development of new technologies for electronic products.
