Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Electromechanical Expert to join our dynamic maintenance team and provide critical support to our complex systems.

Position Overview :

The Electromechanical Expert will be a key resource for troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing our sophisticated electrical and mechanical equipment. This role demands a seasoned professional with a proven track record of rapidly diagnosing and resolving complex issues, particularly under pressure. A deep understanding of electromechanical systems and a strong focus on maximizing operational uptime are essential. This position requires a willingness to work a consistent day shift schedule with on-call responsibilities and the potential for overtime and weekend work.

Responsibilities :

  • Serve as the primary point of expertise for diagnosing and resolving intricate electrical and mechanical malfunctions across all Rouge River Farms equipment.
  • Utilize extensive experience to troubleshoot complex problems quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing production.
  • Perform advanced maintenance, repairs, and modifications to electromechanical systems, including but not limited to PLCs, motor controls, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated machinery.
  • Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies to prevent equipment failures and optimize performance.
  • Interpret and work from complex electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager and other team members to address critical equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to existing systems to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Be willing and available to work a schedule of 6 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM, six days a week.
  • Be available for on-call duty during nights and be prepared to work overtime and Sundays as required to address critical equipment needs.
  • Be willing to travel for work-related purposes as needed, with travel not exceeding 10% of annual work time.

Qualifications :

  • Diploma or equivalent certification in Electromechanical Technology or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience working as an electromechanical technician or expert in an industrial or agricultural setting.
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in rapidly and effectively solving complex electrical and mechanical problems under pressure.
  • A strong understanding of the critical importance of minimizing equipment downtime in a production environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, PLCs, and instrumentation.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, and automated machinery.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical and mechanical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to diagnostics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English (required).
  • Proficiency in Spanish (spoken, read, and written) is a significant asset.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
  • A strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety procedures.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel as required.
