We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical

Your Day To Day

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Electromechanical Sourcing Engineer with a strong engineering background and hands-on experience in component engineering . In this role, you will be a critical link between engineering, procurement, and supply chain teams—responsible not only for driving cost-effective sourcing strategies but also for ensuring component availability, standardization, and lifecycle alignment. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of technical requirements, supply markets, and component-level decision-making to enable smart, resilient sourcing strategies.

You Will Be Accountable For

  • Lead sourcing initiatives for complex components, assemblies, and technical services in collaboration with engineering and product development.
  • Act as the sourcing point of contact for component engineering decisions, including evaluating alternates, managing part obsolescence, and standardizing components across platforms.
  • Partner with engineering teams to interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and assist in negotiations, ensuring technical capability, quality standards, and cost efficiency.
  • Proactively manage component lifecycle risks (EOL notices, PCNs) and coordinate last-time buys or redesign efforts as needed amongst relevant teams.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by aligning component sourcing with development timelines and manufacturing readiness.
  • Collaborate with component engineering to establish and maintain an approved manufacturer and part list (AML / APL).
  • Monitor industry trends, technology shifts, and supply base performance to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability initiatives.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) required
  • 7+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or component engineering within a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, component selection, and lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with component databases (e.g., SiliconExpert, IHS, or internal PLM systems) and experience managing AML / APL.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JDE, Oracle) and sourcing tools.
  • Demonstrated success in cost reduction, risk mitigation, and supplier development.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in electronics, automotive, aerospace, or high-tech industries.
  • Experience with RoHS, REACH, conflict minerals, and other compliance areas.
  • Knowledge of component obsolescence mitigation strategies and alternate sourcing approaches.
