Job summary

Nord Quantique in Sherbrooke, Canada seeks a doctoral-level engineer/scientist to conduct feasibility studies and design advanced electrical generation and distribution systems. You will model, simulate, and optimize electronic devices and systems while leading integration efforts for new technologies.

The role requires a doctorate and 1–2 years of experience, with on-site work at our high-tech facility. Relocation is supported and the environment is fast-paced and detail-oriented.

1 year to less than 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

Conduct feasibility, design operation and performance research of electrical generation and distribution networks
Design electrical and electronic components, systems and equipment
Investigate electrical or electronic failures
Conduct micro or nanodevices simulations, characterization, process modeling and integration in the development of new electronic devices and products
Commission systems and components
Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems
Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
Propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures
Realize modelling and simulation exercises on computerized units
Develop manufacturing and processing procedures
Develop and conduct design verification simulations and prototype bench tests of components
Develop specific plans to prioritize
