Job summary

L3HARRIS WESCAM in Waterdown, Ontario, is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to assemble and test complex electromechanical systems used in defense and security applications. This role requires precise interpretation of schematics, hands-on assembly, and rigorous testing.

You will work with engineers and production teams, perform environmental screening, document results, and support continuous improvement while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and test procedures.
• Experience assembling, configuring and testing complex electromechanical systems.
• Ability to diagnose electrical/mechanical issues and implement solutions.
• Familiarity with loading and verifying software on integrated hardware systems.
• Experience operating environmental test equipment and collecting performance data.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret complex schematics and assemblies.
• Assemble electro-mechanical assemblies with precision, following procedures and PPE guidelines.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot motors, sensors, wire harnesses and components.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve defects and improve processes.
• Conduct environmental screening and validation tests on systems.
• Maintain thorough documentation of assembly, testing and results.
• Support cross-functional teams to meet project timelines.
• Handle customer-owned equipment when required and perform repairs as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and safety enhancements.
