Job description

Based in Thunder Bay and reporting to the Operations Manager, the role of the electrician is to carry out efficient electrical maintenance of the Terminal's infrastructures and equipment. The electrician must work closely with the mechanical maintenance and operation departments in accordance with the procedures and policies of the client.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Holding safety as paramount, mitigate and report immediate hazards to superiors. Recommends safety improvements.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and job hazard assessment reviews.
• Apply and adhere to Lock-Out-Tag-Out equipment isolation protocols
• Do quality work and adhere to terminal housekeeping and food safety requirements.
• Enter performed work details into work order system as required.
• Perform duties as directed by the General Manager, the Operations Manager or designate.
• Work as directed on plant infrastructure and materials handling systems which may include :
• Belt Conveyors (Enclosed, Air Supported and Conventional)
• Bucket Elevators
• Dust Collection Systems
• Grain Cleaning equipment
• Drag conveyors
• Pneumatic Equipment
• Fans
• Electrical Systems
• Participate in provided training requirements as set-out by Thunder Bay management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

• Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Qualification for either Electrician.
• Familiarity in maintenance requirements of heavy industrial materials handling systems.
• 5 years minimum. Experience in and industrial plant setting preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, quality of work, troubleshooting ability and exceptional safety record.
