Job summary

West Red Lake Gold Mines invites an experienced Electrician to join our team at the Madsen operation in Northwestern Ontario. You will provide electrical support for milling and underground operations on a 14/14 rotation, ensuring reliable power and adherence to safety standards.

The role requires journeyperson certification, Red Seal 309A or 442A, and 3 years of milling/underground experience. We offer comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Journeyperson with 3 years’ milling or underground ops.
• Interprovincial Red Seal 309A or 442A.
• Knowledge of electrical codes for mills/mines.
• Ability to work independently.
• Team player with proven collaboration.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specs for equipment layouts.
• Follow safe practices and site rules.
• Assist in developing, constructing and installing new electrical systems.
• Install cables for 4160V and 600V systems (750 MCM and others).
• Maintain, repair, install switchgear, transformers, meters, regulators and reactors.
• Troubleshoot electrical control systems and related devices.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and keep records.
• May install and calibrate industrial instrumentation.

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the successful candidate will work on a 14&14 rotation, alternating between day and night shifts. The Electrician will safely support mining and milling operations by ensuring that there is always a supply of power to all areas while following safe work procedures to provide overall production and safe target support for West Red Lake Gold.

About the Candidate:

• High School diploma or GED
• Journeyperson certified with 3 years’ experience in milling operations or underground operations
• Interprovincial trade certification (Red Seal) 309A or 442A
• Knowledge of electrical codes for mills and/or underground mines
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent proven team player approach to work
• Valid driver’s licence

About the Role:

• 
  Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine
  layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
• Follow safe working practices and site safety guidelines
• Assist in the development, construction and installation of new electrical systems
• Assist with operations installing 750 mcm and other cable sizes for 4160V and 600V power systems
• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors and electrical control systems
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electric control systems and other related devices
• Repairs, overhauls, installs, dismantles, modifies, replaces, adjusts, tests, cleans, lubricated and maintains motors, generators, power transformers, relays, electrodes, electric crane components, radio controlled equipment, circuit breakers, electric heaters, cables, service lines, conduit ducts, switch gear components etc.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
• May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices
