Job summary

AltaGas is seeking an Electrician & Instrumentation Technician to join the REEF Terminal Operations team in Prince Rupert, BC. Reporting to the E&I Maintenance Coordinator, you will maintain and troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure safe, reliable operations.

This full-time role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and integrity, requiring strong organization and the ability to work independently and with teams.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification is required.
• Dual ticketed E&I certification is preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
• CSA Z462 Electrical Safety Training is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance at the REEF Facility.
• Assist with coordinating, planning, and scheduling as required.
• Manage critical parts inventory to minimize downtime of facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot, test, maintain, and repair plant power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, motors, VFDs, UPS, load banks, generators, lighting, and control devices.
• Install instrument tubing and maintain instrument systems including field devices, valves, actuators, meters, analyzers.
• Collaborate with automation specialists to troubleshoot and repair control systems.
• Build and maintain gas analyzer sampling systems and instrument tubing assemblies.
• Calibrate various flow meters including Ultrasonic, orifice, and Coriolis types.
• Work with Rosemount process devices (Pressure, Level, Temperature) and HART/Modbus protocols.
• Keep workspace clean and organized; assist other trades as needed.
