Job summary

Air Canada is seeking a permanent, full-time Electrician - Facilities Maintenance in Vancouver, BC, on-site. You will perform preventive maintenance, install and repair facility electrical systems, and interpret electrical codes, ensuring reliable electrical operations for ground support equipment.

Qualified candidates have a Red Seal interprovincial certification, 5+ years of experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Industrial electrician who has completed the Red Seal interprovincial standards program.
  • At least five years of work experience in the field.
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment assessment.
  • Proven talent for oral and written communication.
  • Ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a highly demanding work environment.
  • Team spirit.
  • Availability to work days, but also weekends and holidays.
  • Availability to travel and possession of a valid passport.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Employees occupying this safety-critical position must meet Air Canada's medical requirements, including medical evaluation and drug/alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair requests through the Facilities work order system.
  • Install, maintain, and repair facility and industrial equipment, as well as related electrical and electronic controls.
  • Consult and interpret assembly drawings and electrical schematics as well as the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components to verify their operation.
  • Maintain, repair, test, and install electric motors, generators, industrial forklift batteries, and electrical control systems for hydraulic and pneumatic devices.
  • Manage the preventive maintenance program for motorized and non-motorized ground equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instruments and related devices.
