Job summary

The Electrician role at IAMGOLD’s Côté Gold mine site in Ontario involves safely maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical power and control systems across mining and milling operations.

You will work with motors, VFDs, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, and related components, following drawings and electrical codes. Open-pit mining experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ontario Provincial or Inter-Provincial Electrical License is preferred.
• Apprentices may be considered in accordance with business and legislative requirements.
• A minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
• Previous experience in open pit mining or mineral processing (specifically gold processing) is an asset.
• Previous experience with Medium and High Voltage equipment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical power and control systems across mining and milling operations.
• Maintain, repair, test, and install motors, VFDs, electrical panels, breakers, and control systems.
• Maintain and test switchgear, transformers, and MCCs.
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, blueprints, and applicable electrical codes and standards.
• Install and repair electrical components such as cables, conduits, cable trays, and related systems.
• Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, voltage, current, and resistance.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document work using the maintenance management system.
• Diagnose issues, anticipate potential failures, and recommend effective solutions.

About The Role

The Electrician safely maintains, installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical power and control systems and equipment throughout the mine and milling operation. The Electrician works collaboratively with the team to support the execution of the integrated plan and schedule.

• Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, voltage, current, and resistance
• Perform preventive maintenance and accurately document work using the maintenance management system
• Diagnose issues, anticipate potential failures, and recommend effective solutions

Job Qualifications

Key Skills & Knowledge:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Ontario Provincial or Inter-Provincial Electrical License is preferred.

Relevant Experience

• A minimum of 4 years of related work experience.

Salary Range: $89,000 - $133,500 + Bonus
