Job summary

IAMGOLD, a Canadian-based gold mining company, seeks a Conveyor Technician for the Côté Gold Mine site in Ontario. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair conveyor systems to keep mine and mill operations reliable.

Reporting to the Millwright Supervisor, you’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical issues, operate lifting equipment, and use CMMS to manage work orders.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Industrial Mechanics (Millwright) or related discipline.
• Ontario Millwright Certificate of Qualification preferred.
• Apprentices considered based on business needs and guidelines.
• Welding certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair conveyor systems and related components.
• Perform belt splicing, pulley lagging, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on mill and mine equipment.

About The Role

We're actively searching for a Conveyor Technician to join the Côté Gold team, with a start date to be determined, reporting to the Millwright Supervisor. This role is responsible for safely installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to support reliable mine and mill operations.

This role supports IMG’s purpose by ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime across mining and milling operations. Through skilled maintenance and collaboration, the Millwright plays a key role in sustaining safe, efficient production and delivering operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and conveyor systems, including pulleys, belts, drives, and related components.
• Perform belt splicing, pulley lagging, and preventive maintenance activities, including lubrication, inspections, and component replacements.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on mill and mine equipment.
• Operate lifting and hoisting equipment safely and effectively to support maintenance and repair activities.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and technical manuals to perform work accurately and efficiently.
• Utilize CMMS systems to manage work orders, document maintenance activities, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate shift activities, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure clear communication through detailed log entries.
• Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to lockout/tagout procedures, applying risk-based decision-making, contributing to site reliability goals, and supporting continuous improvement through ongoing learning and knowledge sharing.

Job Qualifications

• College diploma in Industrial Mechanics (Millwright) or a related discipline.
• Valid Ontario Provincial or Interprovencial Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate of Qualification preferred.
• Apprentices will be considered based on business requirements and applicable legislative guidelines.
• CWB All-Position Welding Certification is considered an asset.

Relevant Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
• Previous experience in open pit mining or mineral processing (specifically gold processing) is considered an asset.

Skills & Strengths, We Value

• Strong technical proficiency in conveyor maintenance, including belt splicing, vulcanizing techniques, and system alignment, with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments to perform accurate and efficient maintenance work.
• Experience using CMMS systems and basic computer applications to manage work orders, track maintenance, and support operational efficiency.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, and effective communication, with the ability to work independently or under pressure; valid Ontario driver’s license required.

Salary Range: $89,000-$133,500 + bonus.
