Job Summary
As the Electrical Infrastructure Specialist, you can look forward to both acting as your own foreman and becoming a trusted expert touching many different projects across the region. By leveraging your trade expertise and project management experience you will work to ensure the electrical infrastructure in the Montreal Flight Information Region runs smoothly. You will be responsible for executing and managing the Electrical Maintenance activities and Electrical Capital Program Projects activities to ensure system integrity, technical configuration, service restoration and performance of preventative and corrective maintenance for assigned complex electrical equipment and systems used in the provision of Air Navigation Services to aircraft. Through your work in this role maintaining NAV CANADA’s electrical equipment and systems you will play a key role in ensuring the safe delivery of Air Navigation System (ANS) service to the flying public.

Key Accountabilities:
- Execute and manage the electrical maintenance services on all major equipment and systems (interruptible power unit, Uninterruptible Power Supply and Electrical distribution) at Area Control Centre (ACC), Air Traffic Control Towers, and Navigational Aids (NAVAIDS) as per established schedules, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide on-site coordination of construction activities acting as liaison between NAV CANADA, contractors, local airport authorities, and external customers.
- Ensure work is executed in compliance with contract documents, Federal, provincial, and municipal regulations, and NAV CANADA policy and procedures.
- Ensure optimum effectiveness of operation of equipment for the designated area of responsibility.
- Respond to corrective maintenance issues by investigating system problems, developing solutions, providing 2nd level technical support, reconfiguring systems, and rectifying deficiencies in real time operations.
Education:
- Electrical trade certification at the Journeyman level
- Certificate of qualification in electricity issued by Emplois Québec.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of continuous experience in the electrical trade.
- Experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of generators, interruptible power units, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), and electrical distribution systems.
- Experience interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience coordinating multiple trades on a job site.
- Experience monitoring construction progress against scope, schedule, and budget, and reporting on progress.
Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and other regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for inputting, analyzing, scheduling, and executing maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of project management software for scheduling and executing maintenance and project activities.
Abilities:
- Ability to concentrate when inspecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting uninterruptible power supply equipment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to use sight, smell, hearing, and touch when inspecting or repairing electrical equipment.
- Attention to detail within the statement of work and in assessing on-site workmanship.
- Ability to communicate effectively with difficult contractors, meet strict contract deadlines, and follow Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) processes.

Working Conditions:
- Please note this is classified as a safety sensitive/business critical position and will require pre-employment drug screening.
- The incumbent will be required to travel approximately 50 nights per year. About 80% of trips will be scheduled in advance based on the established maintenance program at the beginning of the year meaning you will know the majority or work needed to be done, where it needs to be done, and when. The remaining 20% of travel involving unplanned emergency travel.
- Travel will primarily occur within the provinces of Quebec and Nunavut, with additional travel across Canada only as needed.
- This role involves extended travel periods however you will have lots of notice for the majority of these periods.
- The position is based at the Montreal ACC in Dorval, Quebec, and the incumbent must be on-site to perform their duties.
