Job Description

This position is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to electrical and control systems on mobile equipment in a safe, functional, reliable condition and provide customer service to the maintenance planning functions. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Work with team to conduct job risk assessments and safe work plans ahead of the work being completed;
  2. Complete training on electrical safety (Arc flash & Shock) as per site’s Electrical Safety Program training;
  3. Understand and apply the information on detailed Arc Flash & Shock Equipment Labels, Results Tables or Work Orders to determine additional protective measures to reduce risk;
  4. Participate in safety audits, reviewing operating procedures and meetings, maintaining meaningful contribution;
  5. Maintain, repair, and test electric or electronic systems and components on the mobile maintenance fleet;
  6. Perform timely routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on mobile mining equipment in a shop or a field production environment;
  7. Complete accurate reporting of electrical defects / deficiencies;
  8. Complete a detailed report on the repairs and identify the cause of failure for each problem encountered on work orders;
  9. Order Parts and Install electrical parts / components as per trade code and industry design specification requirements;
  10. Report hazard observations and near hits, and assist with incident investigations and follow-up work.

Qualifications

  1. Valid Journeyperson certification in Electrical;
  2. 4+ years working on Heavy Mining Equipment;
  3. A minimum of 12 months of surface mining field experience working with heavy earthmoving equipment required;
  4. Must be eligible to work in Canada;
  5. Experience with Komatsu as asset;
  6. Ability to read and decipher complex electrical drawing and prints;
  7. Ability to operate within MS Office and SAP environment;
  8. Ability to build productive working relationships with all department on site;
  9. Ability to communicate and approach work in a professional and effective manner;
  10. Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical & criminal record check.
