Spark Power Apprentices are responsible for assisting Journeymen and other employees with their tasks and contributing to operations. Over time, the Apprentice’s skills will develop, allowing them to take more ownership of jobs based on their abilities.
What you'll be doing as an Electrical Apprentice at Spark Power:
- Deciding on the best methods for visualizing, measuring, and estimating work as appropriate for the job situation.
- Determining when additional materials are needed to complete required work.
- Labeling wires, conduits, and apparatus to ensure safety from shock/electrocution.
- Choosing optimal routing options for conduit, wires, and other systems.
- Assisting newer Apprentices with orientation and learning.
- Attending required meetings, safety sessions, and professional development.
- Ensuring phone and barcode scanner are charged and ready, and that trucks are stocked with proper tools and materials.
- Loading materials, lifts, trailers, and other equipment.
- Maintaining accuracy of work orders.
- Performing field work and installations.
- Performing vehicle maintenance.
Do you have the Spark? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- High School Diploma
- Registered Electrical Apprentice – Minimum Level 1
- Experience in industrial, commercial, and/or institutional electrical work
- Positive attitude with a proactive, hardworking, and team-oriented personality is essential!
- Valid Driver’s License with a clear abstract
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Reliability and commitment to quality work and team contribution
- Electrical knowledge is an asset
- Desire to grow in your Electrical career
- Good numeracy skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Adherence to all Health and Safety standards and practices
- Compliance with Spark Power’s COVID-19 vaccination policy
