Job summary

Masco Canada is seeking an Electrician to join our on-site team in St. Thomas, ON. You will troubleshoot and repair production equipment and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

You will maintain electrical inventories, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with a team while keeping documentation up to date. A Red Seal license and CNC/robotics knowledge are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Certified Electrician required with industrial scope.
• O.S.S.D or equivalent education.
• Industrial Electrician License (Red Seal) – 442A.
• Certificate of Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment.
• Support daily troubleshooting for production.
• Perform preventive maintenance as required.
• Rebuild and install equipment as needed.
• Maintain stock of electrical items.
• Record hours and notes on work orders.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Comply with OHSA and WHMIS 2015.

Electrician at Masco Canada (On-Site – St. Thomas, ON )

Shift : Monday - Thursday 3:30pm - 1:30am
Wage : $44.78

WHAT YOU WILL DO

To perform the duties required in order to support the maintaining of the facility and the production equipment. These duties are to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner in order to support the reduction of downtime on equipment and minimize the disruption to production and the facility in general.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment
• Support production with day to day troubleshooting
• Complete preventive maintenance as required
• Rebuild and install equipment as required
• Support in maintaining stock of electrical items
• Fill in the appropriate information on the maintenance work orders when complete (ex. Hours, and notes / comments)
• Support in keeping the maintenance department clean and safe
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Basic knowledge of PLC’s
• Ability to work a two-week shift rotation
• Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes

• Maintain a safe workplace
• Wear Personal Protective equipment as required on the shop floor
• Comply with the company policies, procedures, and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act)
• Participation is required in our internal responsibility system (right to know, right to refuse, right to participate)
• Follow safe work and lockout / tagout procedures as required
• Report unsafe conditions or hazards as soon as possible to your supervisor
• Maintain a clean working environment
• Adhere to and maintain WHMIS 2015 requirements
• Annual medical surveillance may be required

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATION

• Certified Industrial Electrician
• O.S.S.D or equivalent
• Industrial Electrician License (Red Seal) – 442A License
• Certificate of Apprenticeship

ADDITIONAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRMENTS / OTHER

• Complies with all company policies and procedures
• Performs other tasks as assigned by management
• Working knowledge of PLCs and troubleshooting PLCs
• PLC – logic controllers
• Knowledge of CNC controllers would be an asset
• Knowledge of robotics
• Knowledge of AutoCAD

Hiring Range: $44.78

The pay rate shown reflects the expected hourly pay for this open position. It does not include any overtime worked. This wage is determined by the CBA.
