Job summary

Graphic Packaging International, ULC, Winnipeg, Manitoba, is hiring an experienced Industrial Electrician (Red Seal) to join our 24/7 plant team. This role focuses on troubleshooting, PLC programming, commissioning, and improving equipment reliability to reduce downtime.

Successful candidates will work days, afternoons, and rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays; overtime and on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• Must be Red Seal Industrial Electrician.
• 5+ years of experience in a production environment preferred.
• Experience with PLC/Controls/Electronics and PLC automation controls.
• Ability to work in a demanding environment with multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment; perform preventive maintenance on motors, drives, PLCs, pumps, and production machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and drawings.
• Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair and maintain industrial machinery for reliability.
• Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting actions and communicating needs.
• Coordinate with area operators to resolve maintenance issues; document resolutions and pass down shifts.
• Maintain maintenance log; ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Red Seal Industrial Electrician Job Description

Graphic Packaging International, ULC, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, currently has an immediate opening for an experienced, Industrial Electrician to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a Red Seal Industrial Electrician to use their troubleshooting, process control/PLC programming and commissioning skills. The position will be active in developing a culture of an incident free workplace, continuous improvement of equipment reliability and reducing costs to support the business success. The plant is a 24/7 operation. Successful applicants must be available to work all shifts including but not limited to, days, afternoons, rotating 12 hours shifts, weekends and statutory holidays. overtime and on-call.

Job requirements:

• Ensures proper operation of manufacturing equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, drives, PLC’s, pumps, pneumatic tools, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer's instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and drawings.
• Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery, electrical and mechanical equipment for improved reliability and up-time
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Work closely with area operators to resolve maintenance related issues with the ability to communicate the issues and resolutions to Operators, Managers and Peers directly or via email.
• Responsible for shift pass down to oncoming technicians.
• Maintain maintenance log and keep it current at the end of each shift.
• Resolve quality and safety issues.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned and required

Job Requirements/Education:

• Must be Red Seal Industrial Electrician
• 5+ years of experience in a production environment preferred
• Experience with PLC/Controls/Electronics, PLC Automaton Controls
• Ability to work in a demanding environment, with multiple projects, while meeting deadlines safely

• Ability to interact with customers, co-workers, and managers in a professional manner

• Must be a collaborator
• Expected to supply a standard industrial set of tools. The company will supply specialty tooling

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting, standing for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours
