Job summary

Humber River Health in Canada is seeking an Electrician to join the Maintenance and Engineering team. The role offers full-time status with shifts initially daytime, and occasional travel between sites. The hourly rate is $37.924, and the Labour Group is NOWU Service.

The successful candidate will maintain electrical equipment, inspect electrical systems, and support renovations while adhering to safety and code requirements. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • Successfully completed Grade 12.
  • Ontario Electrician certificate required.
  • Extensive experience maintaining institutional electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes for public buildings.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with staff.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps all operating electrical equipment in safe and proper working condition.
  • Maintains the electrical inspection book.
  • Recommends ordering of electrical supplies.
  • Tests and repairs electrical defects.
  • Installs and services new electrical equipment.
  • Installs and repairs the nurse call system.
  • Repairs exterior lighting and parking lot equipment.
  • Installs services in renovations or building changes.
  • Maintain Fire Alarm System
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Responsibilities:

  • Keeps all operating electrical equipment in safe and proper working condition.
  • Maintains the electrical inspection book.
  • Recomends the ordering of electrical supplies.
  • Tests and repairs any electrical defect.
  • Installs and services new electric equipment.
  • Installs and repairs the nurse call system.
  • Repairs outside lighting and parking lot equipment.
  • Installs new services in renovation or building changes.
  • Maintain Fire Alarm System
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed Grade 12.
  • Extensive Experience in all aspects of institutional electrical equipment maintenance.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Ontario Electrician certificate.
  • Knowledge of electrical sections or public building and safety codes.
  • Ability to communicate with staff.
  • Lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls a variety of electrical materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Climb, balances, stoops, kneels and crouches to gain access to electrical wiring.
  • Exposed to electrical shocks and burns as well as falls from ladders or scaffolds.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required
