Overview of the Role

Saputo Dairy Products is seeking an enthusiastic Electrician/Instrument Tech to join our team. As a member of the Maintenance team, this position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation, PLC, power/control, and automation systems within the facility.

Salary: $46.36 per hour

How you will make contributions that matter:
  • Committed to safety, the environment, working within a team, willing to learn and contribute.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting, and other electrical components.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, hydraulic, HVAC, and pneumatic electrical control systems.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs and maintain records using CMMS.
  • Maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
  • Capable of medium to heavy lifting.
  • Work on a twelve-hour shift rotation to cover production requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with plant personnel.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, following OH&S, WCB, Food Safety, and other regulations and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Industrial electrician/instrumentation certificate. Apprentice considered.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a food processing facility is an asset.
  • High level of self-motivation and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of pressure, temperature, flow controls, calibrations, and programming.
  • Proficiency and dependability.
  • Strong, independent individual with the ability to function within a team.
  • Multi-tasking, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced mechanical, technical, and software aptitude. Experience in SAP is an asset.
  • Knowledge of PLC controls and programming systems. Allen Bradley experience is an asset.
  • PC Windows-based OS experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of GMP, Food Safety Systems, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good judgment, diligence, and a strong work and attendance record.
