Job summary

Seguin Morris is seeking an experienced Electrician to support our project managers on electrical infrastructure, high-voltage equipment, and lighting projects across industrial, commercial, and construction sectors.

You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, read plans, comply with CNESST/OSHA, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable solutions on demanding sites.

Qualifications

  • Recognized diploma or training in industrial, commercial, or construction electricity.
  • Active member of CCQ and/or IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers).
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role (industrial, commercial, or construction sectors).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and technical schematics.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards (CNESST / OSHA).
  • Strong adaptability and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrician to work in the industrial, commercial, and construction sectors. You will play a key role in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems while ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations.

This position is ideal for an organized, autonomous, collaborative, and motivated individual who can adapt to different environments and manage priorities in demanding situations.

1. Electrical Installation
  • Install electrical circuits, outlets, switches, panels, lighting, and industrial or commercial equipment.

  • Perform wiring for new buildings, renovations, or expansions.

  • Mount and connect low- and high-voltage equipment according to standards.

2. Maintenance and Repair
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in buildings, factories, or job sites.

  • Replace defective components such as fuses, breakers, switches, motors, etc.

  • Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend the life of installations.

3. Blueprint and Schematic Reading
  • Read and interpret electrical plans, single-line diagrams, and technical drawings.

  • Follow engineers’ instructions and project plans to ensure proper installation.

4. Compliance and Safety
  • Work in accordance with local electrical codes, CNESST/OSHA standards, and industry regulations.

  • Apply safe work practices on job sites or in facilities to prevent accidents.

  • Install protective devices, grounding systems, and fire safety equipment.

5. Coordination and Communication
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, technicians, and other trades (plumbing, mechanical, HVAC).

  • Report progress, identify issues, and propose solutions.

6. Testing and Verification
  • Test electrical circuits, devices, and systems to ensure proper operation.

  • Inspect and verify installations after work to guarantee compliance with standards.

7. Sector-Specific Responsibilities
  • Industrial: Motors, machinery, variable speed drives, production equipment.

  • Commercial: Lighting systems, alarms, building automation.

  • Construction: Wiring for new buildings, temporary connections, and provisional site installations.
