Job summary

DMC Mining Services in Sudbury, ON is seeking a full-time Electrician to join our team for underground mining operations. The ideal candidate will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in accordance with codes and safety procedures.

This on-site role requires hands-on experience with underground work, reading complex prints, and strong safety awareness. Responsibilities include quality maintenance, inspections, testing with meters and scopes, and following company policies.

Qualifications

• Electrician License is required.
• Underground experience (3+ years) is preferred.

Job description

Summary

DMC is currently looking for Electricians to join our team on a full-time contract basis, based in Sudbury, ON. The Electricians, reporting to the Supervisor, will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and equipment and ensure that all work is in accordance with relevant codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality maintenance work as directed by their supervisor.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair
• Demonstrate the ability to read complex prints along with an exceptional understanding of electrical codes
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring equipment using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Must be experienced and comfortable working at heights.
• Must follow standard safety operating procedures.
• Takes responsibility for aspects of occupational health and safety, and environmental matters, over which the individual has control, including adherence to all requirements applicable to DMC.
• Have a completed personal basic trade tool inventory of a recognized quality.

Qualifications

• Electrician License
• Basic Underground Common Core 770010 Program (U0000-U0001-U0002-U0012)
• Strong organizational and time management skills are expected
• 3 years’ experience working underground

Working Environment

• Working in a mining, industrial setting.
• Travel to work site locations.
• Site conditions may include outdoors, dark, wet, inclement weather, and uneven ground.
• Sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Vehicle - passenger or driver.
• Comfortable working at heights.

Additional Information

• We are hiring to fill an existing vacancy.
• Hourly range is expected to be between: $20 to $28 (CAD) + hourly incentive bonus.
