Job summary

McKay Métis Contracting is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems across our BET team operations. You will read schematics, perform preventive maintenance and ensure safety and code compliance in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has proven experience with complex electrical issues, a valid Red Seal or working toward it, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Shift: 10 days on, 5 off, 12-hour days.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Endorsement is an asset or currently working towards completion.
• Proven experience diagnosing and troubleshooting complex electrical issues.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties.
• Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Pre-employment testing may be required.
• CSTS’20, BSO, CSO or equivalent.
• Must be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

The successful candidate will bring strong technical skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems while providing ongoing support to the BET team.

Accountabilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure reliability and safety.
• Collaborate with the Bird Environmental Technician (BET) team to support operations and resolve electrical issues.
• Work with specialized systems, including Scully equipment, ensuring safe and compliant operation.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Document maintenance activities and recommend system improvements.
• Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.

Requirementsand Competencies:

• Red Seal Endorsement is an asset or currently working towards completion.

Schedule:
