What you will be doing!

• Performing preventative maintenance, installation, repair, testing, and inspection activities on electrical equipment and systems.
• Troubleshooting electrical equipment and related systems to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems to ensure reliability, functionality, and regulatory compliance.
• Recommending and supporting the procurement of materials, spare parts, tools, and equipment required to complete maintenance activities.
• Developing work plans and recommending modifications to equipment, procedures, and maintenance programs to improve system reliability and efficiency.
• Preparing and maintaining service records, maintenance documentation, and equipment history records.
• Maintaining housekeeping standards for work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Following provincial, federal, and CNL regulations to support a safe and efficient working environment.
• Attending safety meetings and reporting safety concerns, hazards, and potential improvements.
• Applying Event Free Tools and safe work practices throughout all assigned activities.
• Assisting in the training, coaching, and mentoring of apprentices and new employees.
• Collaborating with supervisors, planners, schedulers, facility staff, customers, and other trades personnel to support maintenance objectives.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.
  

What we are looking for:

• Education
  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma.
  • Qualification as an Electrician, typically acquired through completion of the required 9,000-hour apprenticeship program.
• Experience
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
  • Experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance activities in an industrial environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting maintenance documentation, work planning, and equipment reliability activities is considered an asset.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment and related systems and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multi‑trade teams and across a broad range of disciplines.
  • Applied knowledge of Microsoft Office applications for documentation, data entry, reporting, and communication purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop work plans and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance effectiveness.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
• Security Clearance Eligibility Required
  • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
    

Working Conditions:

• Working schedule: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week.

• This position is part of the M&E Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the M&E Collective Agreement. As a member of this bargaining unit, you’ll benefit from clear expectations around hours of work, wages, vacation, and other conditions that support a fair and consistent working environment.
