Job summary

Ascension Automation Solutions Ltd. is seeking an Electrician (309A) in Canada. The role involves installing and maintaining electrical systems across industrial environments, reading schematics, and building control panels.

You will troubleshoot and ensure compliance with local codes while coordinating with clients and vendors. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in manufacturing/industrial settings and holds a 309A license.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Extensive knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC).
• Experience in electrical roles including construction, panel building, or maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electrical systems including EMT, PVC and rigid conduit, cable tray, instrumentation and controls wiring, new service installations, lighting installations.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks/repairs as directed by the client or management.
• Wire motors, beacon lights, photo-eyes, and other control devices.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics or prints.
• Build and wire electrical control panels.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical system breakdowns including machine breakdowns and power issues.
• Ensure all installations meet local electrical code requirements.
• Self-organize with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Plan and schedule projects.
• Estimate time and materials needed to complete projects.
• Maintain documentation relating to ongoing projects.

Job description

We are currently looking for an Electrician (309A) to join our team. The successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to think creatively when faced with a challenge, and provide practical solutions to technical problems. You will be expected to liaise with customers, engineer, and vendors, to understand problems and provide solutions focused on continuous improvement.

A strong candidate will demonstrate the ability to:

• Install and maintain electrical systems including EMT, PVC and rigid conduit, cable tray, instrumentation and controls wiring, new service installations, lighting installations, and more;

• Work with ESA inspectors;
• Maintain high level of customer satisfaction through direct contact and coordination of company resources.

Qualifications & Core Skills

• 2-5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC).
• Must have experience in an electrical role including construction, panel building, or maintenance.
• Knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and PLC programming is an asset.
• Able to lift weight of up to 50lbs.
• Able to work in a warm/cold environment.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.

Education:

309A License required.
