Job summary

A leading recruiting agency in Brampton is seeking an experienced Electrician to support the design and maintenance of high-quality automated assembly lines for the automotive industry. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting CNC machines, programming robots, and providing guidance to apprentices. This contract-to-hire position offers a pay range of $35.00 - $45.00 per hour.

Overview

As an Electrician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the design and maintenance of high-quality automated/robotic assembly lines for the automotive industry.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain Product Bill of Materials.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Teach and program robots.
  • Troubleshoot CNC machines.
  • Anticipate and solve problems proactively.
  • Operate various tools and equipment, including genie lifts, drill presses, hydraulic benders, and meggers.
  • Build panels and perform machine wiring.
  • Start-up and debug new systems.
  • Provide continuous guidance and training to assigned Electrical Apprentices.
  • Perform office wiring and building maintenance as required.
  • Perform pipe bending and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure safety by properly locking out all energy sources, including stored energy.
  • Consult with supervisors when unsure about task safety.
  • Follow all safety rules, standards, and procedures, and use Personal Protective Equipment properly.
  • Keep the work area clean, tidy, and organized to prevent accidents and ensure quality.
  • Report all unusual circumstances and support Continuous Improvements.
  • Follow all ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure world-class quality products.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Essential Skills
  • Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Electrician or Construction and Maintenance Electrician.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in automotive tooling and integration.
  • Knowledge of programming robots such as Motoman, Fanuc, ABB, and Nachi.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting precision equipment, motors (AC&DC), Boring Mills, and PLCs.
  • Proficiency in electrical conduit work, wiring, troubleshooting, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to use hand tools such as pipe benders, hydraulic knock-out tools, crimpers, and soldering irons.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Must possess own tools.

Work Environment

Work in a state-of-the-art manufacturing site specializing in the design and build of automated/robotic assembly lines for the automotive industry. Our expertise includes robotic and table top hemming, laser welding, and assembly line welding. The work schedule is from 7 AM to 3:30 PM or 3:30 PM to 11 PM, Monday through Friday. You must be able to work both shifts. Collaborate with top OEMs such as General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford in a facility dedicated to producing high-quality products.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brampton, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
