Job summary

Finlink Group in Markham, Ontario, is seeking an Electrical Testing & Commissioning Engineer to support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of energy storage and EV charging systems across North America and global markets.

This field-based role is travel-heavy, requiring hands-on work at project sites, hotel stays, and readiness to travel by car and plane across approximately 25 U.S. states, Canada, and international locations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical engineering, commissioning, testing or field experience.
• Hands-on troubleshooting in electrical systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Test, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain EV charging and energy storage systems.

Energy Storage & EV Charging | Extensive North American & International Travel

We are looking for a hands‑on Electrical Testing & Commissioning Engineer to support the testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of energy storage and EV charging systems across North America and international markets.

This is a field‑based, travel‑heavy role, not a traditional office engineering position. You will spend significant time travelling by car and plane, working at project sites, staying in hotels, and getting hands‑on with equipment. The role can involve practical work such as wiring, crimping, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning systems.

Requirements

• Must be born in Canada. Canadian citizenship alone does not meet this requirement. Proof of Canadian birth will be required.
• P.Eng. designation is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering, commissioning, testing, or field experience.
• Strong hands‑on electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable working with electrical equipment and performing practical field work.
• Willing and able to travel extensively by car and plane, including international travel.
• Comfortable spending significant periods away from home and working from hotels when required.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to work independently in the field.

EV, BESS, renewable energy, or industrial controls experience is an asset, but EV industry experience is not required.
