OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Licensed Trade Electrician to join our dynamic industrial operations team, providing continuous support to electrical and instrumentation systems in a demanding production environment. This role involves maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems including PLCs (Allen-Bradley), VFDs, instrumentation (temperature, pressure, density, flow), and various voltages (110V, 575V, 4160V AC / DC). The successful candidate will ensure equipment availability, minimize downtime, and maintain compliance with safety standards including LOTO and Arc Flash protocols.
The position works 12-hour shifts, 3 days one week, 4 days the next week, for a total of 84 hours in a two-week period. The position includes regularly scheduled Saturday and Sunday shifts and works two weeks of day shift followed by two weeks of night shift. All shifts worked on a Sunday are paid at double time, and all hours of work have a $1.00 / hour shift premium.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial systems operating at 110V, 575V, and 4160V
- Maintain and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, motor control centres, and control panels.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation including temperature, pressure, density, and flow devices using 4-20mA loop systems.
- Execute planned and unplanned maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of electrical equipment in a high-uptime production facility.
- Interpret and update electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control drawings.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks using SAP CMMS.
- Adhere strictly to LOTO (Lockout / Tagout) procedures and Arc Flash safety practices.
- Respond to operational breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime and support production.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and automation teams to optimize performance and reliability of systems.
- Document all work and changes accurately in maintenance records and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Electrician License (442A or 309A) – Red Seal preferred.Minimum 5 years’ experience in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.DEMONSTRATED PROFICIENCY IN
