Job summary

University of British Columbia seeks a Sub Head Trades 3 - Tradesperson Electrical to lead and coordinate a skilled electrical crew within Student Housing and Community Services. You will oversee maintenance, installation, and safety compliance on SHCS facilities.

The role requires a journeyperson Electrician, Field Safety Representative certification, and a minimum of five years’ related experience. Occasional overtime and a strong focus on safety are expected.

Qualifications

• Trade certification to journeyperson level as a B ticket Electrician.
• Field Safety Representative certification and valid BC driver’s license.
• Minimum five years of related experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Organize and direct the work of an assigned trades crew (Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, etc.).
• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance, Troubleshoot and repair high/low voltage systems.
• Prepare cost estimates and supervise training for apprentices.
