Job description

Position Summary

With a key focus on creating and maintaining project plans, the Scheduler will update project reporting and provide general support to the project manager and project team. They will actively develop project management specific processes to ensure consistent reporting on the planning/scheduling phases of projects.

Position Details
  • Based out of our Calgary E&I office
Core Accountabilities
  1. Be proficient in building, maintaining, and analyzing schedules in P6
  2. Support construction to define scope of work, construct schedule, analyze data, extract reports, determine critical paths/milestones, etc.
  3. Use metrics to analyze, monitor progress on project activities, forecast completion costs based on trends, including productivity trends, labor rates analysis, commitments, change management, schedule impacts, and material cost variance. Input, interpret, and analyze cost information, providing status and variance reports to the team.
  4. Participate in developing project scope, schedule, change orders, contracts, quality assurance, and budget data for assigned projects.
  5. Ensure projects complete required documentation and approval to advance through stage gate process.
  6. Develop and prepare status reports and other project planning and control documentation.
  7. Assist in tracking, analyzing, and reporting on man-hours.
  8. Oversee the preparation of internal project review reports and present information in project review meetings.
Qualifications
Education
  • P6 Training
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of scheduling experience
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Primavera P6 scheduling software
  • Proficient with spreadsheets, Microsoft Excel, and Word
  • Understanding of how Forecasting, SPI, CPI, PF, and EV are calculated using P6
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Meticulous record-keeping skills
