Job summary

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery and issue resolution.
• Monitor progress, cost, and performance, and implement corrective actions as required.
• Maintain effective client and stakeholder relationships and ensure compliance with project procedures.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Project Electrical Area leadyou will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical scope activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to project quality standards. The role manages engineers, subcontractors, and field teams, coordinates with other disciplines, oversees procurement and construction activities, resolves technical issues, and maintains effective communication with clients and project stakeholders.

Location

The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawaor surrounding areas, or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable nuclear project procedures, specifications, quality requirements, and approved work processes.
• Oversee Project Coordinators in the development and execution of Work Packages, Comprehensive Inspection and Test Plans (CITPs), Quality Checklists, and related work procedures. Review and provide oversight in the documentation preparation to ensure procedures are met and that all relevant quality inspections have been planned, executed and closed out.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the project scope and technical requirements.
• Plan construction activities, staffing requirements, and resource allocation to support efficient project execution.
• Oversee development of the P6 schedule based on the planned construction activities.
• Identify current and future project risks and develop mitigation strategies to support project objectives.
• Direct and coordinate supervisory personnel, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure effective execution of work and minimize delays.
• Review project progress, productivity, cost, and financial performance reports, and implement corrective actions as required.
• Implement and enforce health and safety program.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and ensure appropriate resources are available across engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, contract management, quality, finance, labour relations, and safety functions.
• Maintain positive working relationships with clients, joint venture partners, consultants, subcontractors, union representatives, and other stakeholders.
• Approve project expenditures and proposal pricing within delegated authority.
• Monitor construction progress and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved procedures, and construction schedules.
• Report project performance, workload status, risks, and emerging opportunities to senior management.

Qualifications

• 10 to 15 years of electrical construction experience, having experience with self-performed installations, subcontracted work, large procurement and design coordination.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing complex, large scale, energy construction projects
• Degree in electrical engineer an asset.
• Experience managing projects in a self-performing environment.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and practices gained through operational or on site project management experience.
• Well developed leadership and people management skills.
• High level of professionalism when dealing with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent project controls and presentation skills. #LI-IS1
