About this role

We are recruiting for an Electrical Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team in Burnaby.

The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing electrical components, equipment, and materials, with a solid understanding of electrical systems and technical specifications. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

Your responsibilities

  • Issue purchase orders for project materials
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff on SiteSense inventory management program
  • Track and report product quality
  • Research and negotiate with suppliers and vendors
  • Generate regular reports on procurement activities
  • Assist all Estimators as necessary to obtain pricing for Estimates and Projects
  • Assist with the development and training for our procurement systems
  • Be the subject matter expert for the Purchasing team, using electrical knowledge to assess product specifications, ensure compliance with industry standards, and make informed decisions about product suitability

Your experience and skills

  • 3+ years of previous experience as purchaser/buyer preferably in the construction industry an asset
  • Must have experience as a field electrician, post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, completion of electrical apprenticeship or have purchaser/counter experience at an electrical distributor
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience using JD Edwards an asset
  • Good ability to negotiate and mitigate risk
  • Strong communication skills and an able to work with individuals in different areas of the company

Salary range: $75,000-$85,000 per year plus a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and overall match to the position offered. Let's chat throughout the hiring process and determine the best fit.
