Electrical PCB Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3-8+ years’ experience.
2. Excellent design standards and troubleshooting skills.
3. Experience with electrical equipment design, specification, installation, and connection.
4. Proficient in designing and reviewing PCB Fab and Assembly drawings.
5. Secret Clearance OR the ability to gain Secret Clearance in Canada.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:

1. Altium
2. Zuken E3
3. Sonar systems especially in an ocean environment
4. LabVIEW
5. High voltages
6. ABB motors and drives

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the team at a leading marine technology company based in St John's, Newfoundland. This position is hybrid and would require 3 days a week onsite.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) and wiring harnesses for electronic systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability. You will conduct circuit simulations to optimize performance and ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Your role involves developing system architectures, integrating electrical components, and leading projects from concept to completion. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems, direct activities to meet functional specifications, and develop test plans for validation. Additionally, you will establish design criteria, participate in design reviews, approve engineering deliverables, provide technical assistance during manufacturing, and support customers in the field. Mentoring Electrical Engineers and Technologists is also part of your responsibilities.
