Job summary

SMS Equipment is seeking a Mining Equipment Technical Specialist (Electrical) to support timely repair of down equipment in Elkford, BC. The role ensures safe, efficient field and shop maintenance with a 7x7 rotation and housing availability.

The successful candidate will hold a Journeyperson trade certification and possess 3+ years of Komatsu or heavy equipment experience, plus strong communication and IT skills. This is an on-site role with a collaborative team and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson trade certification required.
• Minimum 3 years Komatsu equipment or heavy equipment experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance and repair of mining parts and equipment.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to equipment down situations with advanced troubleshooting.
• Develop project plans, priorities, budgets and schedules per regulations.
• Track test programs in the field and communicate with Reliability Group.
• Identify and analyze technical issues impacting availability and report findings.
• Provide technical support to ensure preventative and predictive maintenance success.
• Act as liaison between SMS Equipment, Komatsu and customers.
