Who we need

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Millwright and/or an Electrician to join our product manufacturing environment as an Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. This role is essential in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production equipment and facilities, supporting our commitment to operational excellence.

This is an existing, full-time vacancy, working afternoon shift, 5 days per week on-site at our Scarborough manufacturing facility.

What’s in it for you

Immediate growth and professional development. This is an opportunity to start building a career at a rapidly scaling, Toronto-based global company with a modern production floor. It’s a chance to take ownership and to work under the direction of a supportive manager while having the autonomy to make decisions. You will step up to the challenge of interpreting and analysing different factors to solve complex problems where guidelines and precedents are limited.

As our new Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will:
  • Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot. You will conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and keep operations running efficiently. You will troubleshoot and diagnose issues and conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
  • Install and repair. You will perform repairs on electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and components. You will assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems, and implement upgrades or modifications to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Follow safety standards. You will perform all work in accordance with established regulatory compliance and safety protocols, ensuring all work is done with pride, accountability, and integrity. You will promote a safe working environment and good housekeeping practices. You will maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts used and time sheets.
  • Report. You will maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs. You will prepare and submit maintenance reports to management as required.
You have:
  • The experience. You have passed the Ontario Apprenticeship program as a Millwright and/or Electrician - Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A ticket for mechanics and 442A for electricians. Preference will be given to dual ticket holders. You have experience working in a manufacturing environment with a comprehensive knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, pneumatics and some Hydraulics. You have the electrical aptitude and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment in our machine shop.
  • The organization and adaptability. You can easily prioritize work orders, and juggle multiple projects, and pivot as needed to ensure all tasks are done in a timely manner. You are a team player but are equally as productive working independently. You have a high sense of urgency and dedication.
  • The technical skills. You are knowledgeable in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ideally in CNC vacuum forming machines. You can read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a part, machine, or piece of equipment. An avid troubleshooter, you can pull from your knowledge and experience to find the right solution.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have professional written and verbal communication skills. You can build trust and collaborative relationships with team members, vendors, customers, and leaders.
Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $38.46 - $42/hr. Compensation is thoughtfully determined based on your experience, skill set and alignment with our internal compensation framework. We’re always happy to answer questions about compensation throughout the hiring process.

What you can expect from the interview process:
  • A virtual interview with a Talent Advisor discussing your interest in the role and the company. The conversation will be recorded using BrightHire, an AI-powered video interview tool. More details will be shared when you are invited to interview.
  • A 30 minute virtual interview with the Maintenance & Facilities Manager to discuss background and how your experience aligns with the role.
  • An one-hour in-person interview with the Plant Manager and HR Representative where you will have an opportunity to share your technical experience and ask questions related to the role.
