Job summary

Puits Bernier inc. seeks a field service technician to inspect and service electrical and electro‑mechanical equipment across various locations in Canada. You will troubleshoot, repair, and test motors, transformers, switchgear, and related gear, while mentoring apprentices on-site.

Travel is frequent, and candidates must be physically capable of working in dusty environments. This role requires strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.

Qualifications

  • Secondary education or equivalent experience required.
  • 2–3 years of experience minimum.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Frequent travel is required; ability to work on the road.
  • Must be able to work in dusty environments and handle physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro‑mechanical equipment.
  • Instruct apprentices on-site.
  • Perform on-site servicing and repair of equipment.
  • Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance.
