Job summary

Weyerhaeuser Timberstrand Plant in Kenora, Ontario is seeking a permanent Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor to lead a team of electricians and process control technicians in a 24/7 operation.

The role focuses on safety, reliability, and maintenance of equipment; you will plan and schedule electrical work, drive improvements, and mentor staff, reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent. A trades certification or tech/engineering diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role in an industrial environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
• Trades certification or Post-secondary diploma in technology or engineering required.
• Proven analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in leadership role and using CMMS (SAP) is preferred.
• Experience with process control (PLC) is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building relationships through coaching and development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead daily activities of Electricians, Process Control Technicians and contractors.
• Ensure safety of all associates and contractors; address safety concerns.
• Plan and schedule electrical work to minimize production impact.
• Troubleshoot to maximize uptime, production volume and quality.
• Develop training resources to enhance team skills.
• Use computer-based tools to prioritize maintenance, manage inventory, assign resources.
• Resolve issues and uphold site policies fairly.
