Job summary

The College of New Caledonia is seeking an instructor to teach in the Electrician Program. The successful candidate will deliver curriculum, foster a safety-first culture, and support learners and the CNC community.

Strong communication with students and colleagues is essential to promote a positive work atmosphere. Candidates with IPCED/ PIDP credentials and experience in teaching or supervising are preferred, and current industry involvement is valued.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Trades Qualification in Construction Electrician or Industrial Electrician.
• Five years of experience as a Journeyperson Electrician in multiple settings.
• Preference for candidates current in the trade with teaching/supervisory experience.
• Ability to work with students individually or in groups.
• PIDP would be considered an asset.

Skills & Qualifications

• An Interprovincial Trades Qualification in the Construction Electrician or Industrial Electrician trade.
• Five years of experience working as a Journeyperson Electrician a number of settings.
• Preference will be given to candidates who are current in the trade and who have recent proven teaching and/or supervisory experience.
• The successful candidate should be able to deal effectively with students on an individual or group basis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams) is required.
• Completion of the Provincial Instructor’s Diploma Program ( PIDP ) would be considered an asset.
