Job summary

The College of New Caledonia is seeking an instructor to teach in the Heavy Mechanical Trades Program. You will contribute to hands-on learning and support student success in a collaborative college environment.

The ideal candidate holds an Interprovincial Trades Qualification in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic with at least five years of journeyperson experience. PIDP is considered an asset, and proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.

Job Summary

The College of New Caledonia is looking for an instructor to teach in the Heavy Mechanical Trades Program.

Skills & Qualifications

• An Interprovincial Trades Qualification in either the Heavy Duty Equipment Technician OR Truck and Transport Mechanic trade.
• Five years of experience working as a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician OR Truck and Transport Mechanic in a number of industrial settings.
• Preference will be given to candidates who are current in the trade and who have recent proven teaching and/or supervisory experience.
• The successful candidate should be able to deal effectively with students on an individual or group basis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams) is required.
• Completion of the Provincial Instructor's Diploma Program ( PIDP ) would be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety practices and will foster a safety-first culture with students and in the CNC community.
