AtkinsRéalis in Mississauga, ON is seeking an Engineering Student – Electrical for a Winter 2027 co‑op. You will support the design, delivery, and QA of nuclear electrical systems, working under P.Eng supervision while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an accredited Canadian university in Electrical Eng, Engineering Science, or Math and are proficient in MS Office with exposure to MATLAB, ETAP, or MathCAD. Hybrid work culture offered.

Overview

As an Engineering Student – Electrical, you will join the Engineering team and support the design and delivery of innovative nuclear projects. This co‑op opportunity provides valuable hands‑on experience, exposure to multidisciplinary engineering environments, and the opportunity to develop technical and project coordination skills through training, mentoring, and on‑the‑job learning.

Location: Mississauga, ON

Duration: We are currently seeking students available for a Winter 2027 co‑op placement. Opportunities are available for students seeking 4, 8, 12, or 16‑month work terms , with placements beginning in January 2027.

Your Role

• Assist Engineers and Discipline Leads with day‑to‑day engineering activities and support conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phases for nuclear electrical systems under the supervision of a P.Eng.
• Support the development of electrical engineering deliverables for nuclear and conventional systems in accordance with project requirements and Quality Assurance Programs
• Coordinate assigned tasks with multidisciplinary teams, including Document Control, Project Management, and field teams
• Facilitate document reviews and Request for Information (RFI) responses to support project execution
• Attend technical and project coordination meetings and contribute to project discussions
• Support engineering and project management activities across a range of nuclear engineering projects
• Contribute to a collaborative, open‑minded, and positive team environment

About You

• Ability to apply engineering, physics, and mathematics principles to practical problem-solving
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Aptitude for using analytical and design tools such as MATLAB, ETAP, and MathCAD
• Ability to communicate effectively through technical writing and professional interactions with colleagues, clients, and contractors
• Currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Science, or Math Program with an accredited Canadian University
