Position Overview

Calian is developing a pool of early-career candidates for future opportunities as Electrical Generation Systems Technicians (EGS Tech) in support of defense and critical infrastructure projects. These full-time roles are suited to individuals with electrical or power systems training who want to apply their skills in hands-on, technical, and mission-focused environments.

This opportunity includes paid training, structured onboarding, and long-term career development in support of national defense and emergency response capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical power generation and distribution systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and diagnostics on generators, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.
  • Support preventive maintenance and emergency repairs of power systems.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with safety and electrical standards.
  • Maintain logs, equipment records, and assist in energy efficiency reporting.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma and/or diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Power Generation, Electromechanical Technician, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of AC/DC electrical systems, generators, and power distribution.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety codes and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in team-based or remote field environments.
