Black & McDonald Limited in Scarborough, Ontario is seeking an Electrical Estimator to manage all aspects of estimating for electrical ICI projects. The role reports to the Chief Estimator and involves liaison with customers and vendors to maintain competitiveness.

Responsibilities include tender analysis, cost estimation, supplier and subcontractor coordination, and participation in project hand-offs and reviews. Salary ranges 80k–110k CAD with a comprehensive rewards package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of electrical estimating or construction program.
• Several years’ experience working in the electrical construction sector.

ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The Electrical Estimator is located in Scarborough and typically reports directly to the Chief Estimator. The Estimator will be responsible for all aspects of estimating and will ensure strict adherence to B&M policies and procedures relating to the estimating process. The Estimator shall also liaise with customers to ensure continuity of work opportunities and with vendors to maintain competitiveness within the industry. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications
• Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of electrical estimating or construction program

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years’ experience in estimating electrical ICI construction work or on P3 projects

The expected salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $110,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
