Job summary

Plan Group Inc. in Mississauga is seeking an Electrical Estimator to review specifications and drawings, follow through with the estimating process, and develop competitive bids for large electrical construction projects in our community.

The ideal candidate has five years of estimating experience in electrical construction, an Electrical Engineering degree or diploma (or equivalent education), and proficiency with Microsoft Office; Accubid Pro/Enterprise and Live Count are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of estimating experience within the electrical construction industry.
• Electrical Engineering degree or diploma, or released education and/or trade experience.
• Experience in Microsoft Office; with Accubid Pro and/or Enterprise, Live Count a definite asset.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand job specifications and drawings and follow through with estimating process to develop competitive bids.
• Conduct site/tender walk-through to cross reference drawings to avoid site interferences and identify proactive solutions.
• Produce material and labour take-off through estimating software to develop accurate quotations.
• Communicate with clients to gather information, clarify specification, wording, etc.
• Coordinate with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain pricing to include within the final quotation provided to client.
• Participate in closing the bid, including bid review meeting, etc.
• Participate in hand over meeting with Project management team after award.
