Job description

Brief Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Field Services Technician/Technologist in the Grande Prairie region. The successful candidate will support the GP Client Manager and collaborate with project teams on electrical field projects, providing exceptional client experiences through commissioning, repair, and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment.

Accountabilities

1. Work safely on low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems across various environments including commercial, utilities, manufacturing, mining, pipeline, and oil and gas.
2. Commission, repair, and maintain primary and secondary power equipment such as circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and protective relays.
3. Operate various brands of test and troubleshooting equipment confidently.
4. Collaborate effectively with project teams through support and teamwork.
5. Execute safe work practices consistently and foster a safety culture.
6. Complete technical reports and follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and work completeness.
7. Interact with clients courteously and professionally.
8. Identify and implement process improvements.
9. Perform various other duties as required.

Project Support & Office Tasks

1. Maintain vehicle readiness and perform vehicle maintenance.
2. Manage test equipment calibration.
3. Handle logistics including shipping and receiving.
4. Procure materials, equipment, and supplies locally.
5. Assist in preparing reports, tender packages, and quotations for clients.

Requirements

1. Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma, Electrical Engineering Degree, or PSE (Power Systems Electrician).
2. Experience in commissioning, testing, or maintaining power delivery equipment is an asset.
3. Safety tickets such as First Aid, H2S, WHMIS, and TDG are assets.
4. Knowledge of commercial, industrial, and utility environments is an asset.
5. Teamwork experience.
6. Self-motivated, flexible, and driven.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
8. Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
9. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
10. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently.
11. Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
