Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support the Space Systems Division at the Toronto site. You will help bring new reaction wheel and star tracker products to market, and assist with electronics design software implementation.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in engineering/physics/math, with GPA ≥3.0 and 3+ months of applied engineering experience. The role is on-site for at least 16 weeks starting May 3, 2027.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master's or doctoral degree program in engineering, physics or math and have at least one semester remaining.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab, or 프로젝트 experience).

AsaElectrical Engineering Intern based at Rocket Lab’s site in Toronto, Canada, you will have the opportunity to support the Space Systems Division in bringing new reaction wheel and star tracker products to market as well as supporting implementation of new electronics design software. The Electrical Engineering team is responsible for the development, test and maintenance of all the flight electronics in our reaction wheel and star tracker products.

• Work with a fast-paced group of professionals to apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master's or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship
• GPA of 3.0 or above
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE

• GPA of 3.5 or above
• 6+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)
• Hands on Experience working with hardware (Arduinos, raspberry pi)
• Experience creating simple circuits and prototyping with a breadboard or break out board
• Soldering experience
• Python experience
• Computer-aided design (CAD) experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 16 consecutive weeks beginning May3, 2027

COMPENSATION AND OTHER BENEFITS

• Pay Rate: $60,008 CAD Salary
• You may be eligible for a stipend to subsidize relocation costs

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Ontario Pay Transparency Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Base salary is only one part of Rocket Lab’s compensation package for this role.
