Job Title: Electrical Engineering Department Head

Salary: CA$150,000–CA$180,000

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineering Department Head for a well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy with a strong presence across Canada and the US. This leadership role is based in the Mississauga office and will involve overseeing the Electrical Engineering Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects, and driving performance to meet business goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, people management, and project management skills, while also playing a key role in business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. Foster a collaborative and engaged team environment that promotes employee development and operational efficiency.
  • Project Management: Oversee the execution of electrical engineering projects, from initial proposal to final completion. Ensure projects meet technical, schedule, and budget requirements, while maintaining positive client relationships throughout the process.
  • Business Development: Manage and support business development efforts by maintaining and expanding the client base. Identify new opportunities for growth and collaborate with Senior Management on strategic initiatives.
  • Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with Senior Management to prepare project forecasts, proposals, and reports. Attend monthly Department Head meetings to provide updates on proposals, project progress, and any issues.
  • Task Delegation & Mentorship: Assign tasks and responsibilities to senior engineers as needed to ensure the smooth execution of projects. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members to ensure career development and high performance.

About You:

  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a proven track record in project management. Experience in hydro-electric generation and industrial facility projects will be considered an asset.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of engineers.
  • Client-Focused: Excellent client management skills, with a focus on building and maintaining long-term relationships.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines and project goals are met.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary range of CA$150,000–CA$180,000.
  • 4 weeks of vacation per year.
