Job description

AECOM is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer for immediate employment at our London / Kitchener Ontario office.

Job Summary:

You will support projects across Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors, including renewable energy (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. You will work under moderate supervision, contributing to various engineering design and analysis tasks while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform electrical analysis calculations and routine tests in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Assist in preparing technical specifications, design drawings, memos, and reports.
  • Identify discrepancies and propose solutions using sound engineering judgment.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to meet project scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to evaluate electrical conditions and provide recommendations.
  • Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EITs, and technicians.
  • Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) designation in Ontario in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors (PV and EV systems).
  • Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar.
  • Solid knowledge of power systems: MV/LV distribution, lighting controls, renewable energy systems.
  • Proficiency in engineering calculations and technical documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.
