Qualifications

  • Experience with naval warship design or marine defense projects is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking an Intermediate or Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia . This position is offered as a 1-year renewable contract with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop technical studies, system specifications, and electrical drawings for both naval and commercial vessels
  • Select and integrate equipment across various electrical systems
  • Analyze power and communication systems (e.g., voltage drop, short-circuit current calculations)
  • Write clear, detailed engineering reports to support decisions and recommendations
  • Apply engineering changes to existing ship designs, ensuring they meet regulations and maintain system performance
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team on systems integration projects

What You Bring

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and engineering design or integration work
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and / or AutoCAD
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with naval warship design or marine defense projects is a strong asset
