About Kiewit Power Engineering

Kiewit Engineering Group, Inc is a full-service engineering firm with over 3,000 professionals, serving markets such as transportation, power, water, mining, and oil & gas. Our power division focuses on EPC delivery for power facilities across North America, including gas-fired generation, power delivery, environmental retrofits, renewables, and water/wastewater projects.

Position Location and Travel

This role is based in Calgary, AB, with flexible work options. Occasional travel, including to the US, is required.

Responsibilities

1. Design and evaluate electrical systems for large power generation projects.
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and construction teams to ensure project success.
3. Develop technical specifications and interface with partners.
4. Review designs, evaluate bids, and recommend contracts.
5. Create electrical designs, schematics, calculations, and equipment sizing.
6. Mentor junior engineers, ensuring adherence to standards and codes.
7. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
8. Specify electrical components in collaboration with procurement.
9. Participate in project meetings to define scope and technical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• P.Eng license preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in power generation or oil & gas industries.
• Proficiency with software tools and some programming knowledge.
• Experience in field construction or plant startup is a plus.
• Experience supervising junior engineers is desirable.
