Agilus is recruiting for a Electrical Engineer IV in the Oil and Gas Sector in Kamloops, British Columbia.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will offer electrical technical support for Northwest Region Operations, focusing on the safe, reliable operation of electrical assets. If you are an Electrical Engineer with high voltage expertise, this position provides an opportunity to collaborate with other technical specialists, bringing a strong Electrical Engineering foundation and power industry experience. Join our team to support the operational needs and strategies to safely provide reliable natural gas supply.

Responsibilities
  • Efficiently supply technical aid to field operations and personnel in relation to relevant code, processes, standards, and guidelines.
  • Support or lead technical operations accountabilities such as preparing and approving work packages for engineering modifications, audits, reliability support, investigations, process improvements, and technical reviews.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop solutions for equipment and process reliability issues, and evaluate risks to prioritize project funding for optimal safety, integrity, and reliability impact.
  • Provide technical support in emergency response situations and efforts.
  • Routinely communicate with industry peers, vendors, manufacturers, project managers and regional stakeholders fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
  • 7+ YEARS OF QUALIFIED EXPERIENCE in electrical engineering and power systems. Knowledge and in depth understanding of control systems, electrical transmission, high voltage systems, natural gas power generation, and UPS systems.
  • You possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and are a Registered Professional Engineer with immediate eligibility for registration with EGBC.
  • Proven experience with large industrial power systems (substation, large electric motor drives, variable frequency drives, and associated switchgear).
  • You are committed to safety and quality, with a collaborative approach valuing different perspectives and experiences to drive innovation and excellence.
  • High Voltage experience is required and preference will be given to individual with site/ operational experience.
Total rewards
  • $80.00 - $105.00 hourly
  • Preferred Location : Field Offices : Kamloops, Prince George or Fort St. John. Open to Calgary, but will involve frequent travelling
  • Position type : Hybrid (Mon, Tue, Thu from office/ site)
  • 1 year contract
  • Mon - Fri - 40 hours per week
