Stantec’s Energy team in western Canada seeks an Electrical Engineer-in-Training to support HV/EHV substation projects across North America. You will work under a Senior Engineer, performing design under supervision to build practical skills for a successful engineering career.

Ideal candidates are completing EIT, with strong knowledge of power systems and substation equipment, and a collaborative, results-driven mindset. Hybrid work options available, location Canada-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and EIT eligibility with EGBC or equivalent.
• 2–6 years of experience, utilities NA considered an asset.
• Experience with power systems software and substation design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering studies: power flow, short circuit, grounding, insulation coordination.
• Design substations: switchyards, grounding plans, cable routing, single line diagrams, schematics.
